Hello everyone! So I'm not really sure who still visits us on the web here, but I thought
I would post at least one recent news item to let folks know we are still around.
We all aren't as active in gaming at the moment, but do still play.
Right now we're more just a happy family.
You can still find us on the forums.
Forces of Nature would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season, and a happy new year.
We hope that everyone we know has been surviving the difficult times our nation and the world has been going through.
I can't imagine how much farther the bottom is, but at some point the only way it can go is back up.
Sometime this year, when I find time, we will most likely switch the website address to:
http://www.fongaming.com
to better reflect the multitude of games this groupd of folks plays and not just DoD:S.
I'll also try to update the information on the whole of the website.

Well, I hope all you US Citizens had an enjoyable 4th of July!
To celebrate I'm refreshing the main page with a new bit of news so people don't think we're dead!
FON is still around, but we're for sure not what you'd call a highly active clan.
We still play when time permits, and you'll find us on either the A82A server
or perhaps a Budznetwork server.
So we're still here, we still use our forums (yes ZZ, we do), and we'd like to hear from you!

Also on the FON front our longest running member, Psyclone, is getting lonely on the west coast!
Psyclone is going to be looking at starting a parallel west coast FON group.

Catastrophe is returning to active duty after a short stint being moved with no internet.

Hello everyone! I figured it was good to try and put a small update in since I actually had a few free minutes over lunch!
First things first I need to make some corrections/additions to birthdays! Again, shame on me.

UltraClassic has shown dedication and interest in being more for this clan and I'm going to make sure I get him the tools to make that possible.
Although this is a multiple rank promotion I felt it was necessary. He will serve all of us well. Congratulations!

Nothing much to report on the front here. We've had a few members drop back into reserves.
Our man Tornado is being redployed in December and won't be back until summer of 2007.

I'm going to first start off this entry by stating that it's been 5 years that seemed to have passed so quickly since 9-11.
I hope that no one who recalls that day forget and to thank those who sacrifice everything for you.
Our thoughts are with those who have lost and with those who have loved ones far and away in the line of fire.
On a lighter note...it's time to make some changes around here!
We have a new server!

The decision has been made to employ a new Recruitment Officer and we've asked Catastrophe, who has been assistant for some time now, to take Psyclone's place.
Psyclone isn't going anywhere, it's just been difficult with work and timezones for him to be available for a more east coast based clan and server population.
Catastrophe will be promoted as well for his new duties and for his dedication to FON. Congratulations.

However, he's not the only one getting promoted. In order to better serve the members of FON we've recognized that we need more officers that can be around.
We'll be adding Mirage to the officers of FON. We've also promoted Tornado for his dedication and behind the scenes work he was doing for me.
Tornado, with looming deployment has asked that he be moved to reserves along with RipTide, King-Tiger and Ramsay.
And last but certainly not least...OctaGina Jerry and Cosmo.

Since half of our clan seems to be Canadian I'm at a lost of what to do for them...
This news update is a little early, but I don't plan on being at my laptop to do
FON administrative work this weekend. =)
The game server was updated today with the two new maps colmar and jagd, and added to the rotation.
In the next few weeks we look to switch to a 100 tick server once slots are available in Chicago (most likely).
Also working on adding a map downloads section to the website and the return of member profiles!

Promotions and Duty Changes!
Hope you all had a fabulous St Patrick's day last week.

Because of recent take off with his business SaTaNSpawn has stepped down as Assistant Leagues Officer.
However, in his place we welcome another local Canuck, Glacier, who also receives promotion to Sgt. for his duties.
We have two other promotions to mention as well; UltraClassic is being promoted to LCpl. for being the one armed bandit,
and Heathcliff has been jacked up to Pfc. for his dedication to play.

Our Newest Member!
Congratulations, and welcome to the family to MP88!
Server Problems
As of recently there have been many network related problems with the servers.
Recon Gamer is working to solve these issues.
One issue that was related to a fight between AT&T and Cogent with upstream bandwidth should be resolved.
Another problem was supposedly resolved on Tuesday with a Denial of Service attack on the Virginia network
which is where our servers are located.
The last issues appears to be with the numbers of players on the servers.
I've noticed that once we reach about 12 players the server begins to lag badly.
I'll be working on this problem and in the meantime we are looking for other server options.
